At approximately 2 am this morning 16 October, after witnessing protest action on Effingham Road, RHVBEMA security contacted SAPS Β to attend to the scene.Β The protest moved from Effingham Road through Corobrik Road, and to Queen Nandi Drive. Along the way, protestors damaged landscaping, trees, bins, and benches. Fortunately, there havenβt been any reports of damage to private property. Public Order Police then moved the crowd back to Effingham Road which later dispersed. Local Councillor Maharaj was contacted and we were advised that he was going to meet with members of the protest group to receive their list of demands. Our landscaping and cleansing crews are currently cleaning up the aftermath of the protest.
