Ensuring infrastructure and safety: recent municipal and metro activities in Riverhorse Valley

Over the past two weeks, we can report an increase in activity from Metro Police andΒ  Municipality aimed at enhancing the safety and infrastructure of our precinct.

Service Delivery:

  • Sewer Leak on Prince Umhlangane Drive: The persistent sewer leak on Prince Umhlangane Drive has been addressed and is currently drying up. In the meantime, the potholes caused by the leak have been filled with sand. Once the area is completely dry, the Roads Department will proceed with permanent tar repairs.
  • Water Leak Assessment: Teams have assessed the long-standing water leaks affecting the Big 5 embankment, originating from the neighboring Simms Place informal settlement. These leaks are now being attended to, ensuring that the area remains safe and minimizing water wastage.

Metro Police Activities:

Metro Police have been out along Queen Nandi Drive, conducting vehicle checks to ensure road safety and compliance with traffic regulations. These efforts help maintain a secure and orderly environment for all road users.

These initiatives by the Metro Police and eThekwini Municipality are crucial in maintaining the safety, functionality, and overall well-being of Riverhorse Valley.
