October brought a fresh round of improvements to Riverhorse Valleyβs public spaces, with RHVBEMA teams keeping up the pace across cleaning, landscaping and environmental maintenance.
A total of 1010 bags of litter were collected during the month, alongside regular grass cutting, hedging and stormwater drain maintenance. Key work included:
- Boundary and bank cutting, herbicide spraying and alien vegetation removal.
- Replanting the entrance feature at the Effingham Road and Corobrik Road intersection.
- Reinstating the hedge on Hippo Park Avenue following earlier water leak damage.
10+ Years of Service for East Irrigation Pump
An important maintenance project during October was the replacement of the east irrigation water pump. After more than 10 years in service, the pump suffered extensive internal damage caused by fine sand and had reached the end of its useful life. The new pump will support the ongoing maintenance of landscaped areas on the eastern side of the precinct. Fortunately, 36mm of rainfall during October helped sustain these areas while the irrigation system was temporarily offline.
From litter management and landscaping to essential irrigation infrastructure, Octoberβs work reflects the consistent attention required to keep Riverhorse Valleyβs public spaces clean, green and well maintained.
