27 faults addressed and Metro presence in Riverhorse Valley

Municipal Services, Safety and Security

May saw continued improvements in service delivery and safety enforcement across the Riverhorse Valley precinct, with active involvement from both eThekwini Municipality departments and Metro Police. These efforts play a crucial role in maintaining the precinct’s functionality, safety, and overall appeal for those who live, work, and do business here.

Municipal service delivery: 27 faults addressed

During the month, a total of 17 faults logged with eThekwini Engineering Services were resolved. These included pothole repairs, road marking reinstatements, and repairs to parts of the sewer system. Additionally, the Electrical Department resolved 10 reported issues, helping to maintain the reliability of infrastructure and safety of the public realm.

We continue to maintain regular contact with the relevant municipal departments, reporting new faults as they arise and following up on outstanding matters to ensure accountability and progress.

Metro Police presence supports safe public spaces

On the safety and security front, no incidents were reported in public open spaces during May. This continued positive trend is supported by the presence of Metro Police, who maintained a regular operational presence throughout the precinct. Their visibility and enforcement activities, particularly in areas affected by by-law infringements such as illegal parking and roadside obstructions, have contributed to improved order and reduced disruption for road users and pedestrians alike.

As we move into the winter months, sustained collaboration with municipal departments and law enforcement remains vital to ensure the precinct is safe, accessible and well maintained.
