In the past month, the eThekwini Municipality completed much-needed repairs across the precinct, as well as significantly increasing the Metro Police presence and visibility.
4 Key Repairs in the Precinct
Municipal departments and contractors attended to several important infrastructure repairs during April, including:
- Verge maintenance along Prince Umhlangane Road
- Tracing of a damaged electrical cable on Queen Nandi Drive
- Sidewalk repairs on the Imvubu Park Place bridge
- Water leak repairs on Corobrick Road

On the maintenance front, eTM also responded to a sewer overflow on Hippopark Avenue, restoring sanitation services and preventing further disruption.
Ongoing Engagement & Fault Resolution
RHVEMA teams continue to support ongoing coordination and maintenance efforts by the municipality across the precinct, to log, track, and escalate faults and ensure timely service delivery and accountability. This collaborative approach ensures that faults are not only reported but actively followed through to resolution.
Increased Metro Police Visibility
Metro Police maintained a strong, visible presence throughout the precinct this April, particularly along Queen Nandi Drive, where officers conducted:
- Stop-and-search operations on vehicles
- Rapid response to reported incidents
- Enforcement action on illegal parking across multiple precinct roads

With strong Metro Police visibility and consistent municipal response, Riverhorse Valley continues to benefit from proactive enforcement and infrastructure maintenance.
