Upgraded Signals and 23 Resolved Faults: October Municipal and Safety Round-Up

Municipal Services

Collaboration with the eThekwini Municipality and the eThekwini Transport Authority (ETA) remained a key focus throughout October, with a number of positive developments improving safety and infrastructure in Riverhorse Valley.

A notable success was the upgrade of the traffic signals at the intersection of Musa Dladla and Ibhubesi Road. The inclusion of a dedicated right-turn arrow has eased congestion significantly, particularly for vehicles accessing the Edstan Business Park during peak hours. This improvement is a direct result of ongoing engagements with the ETA and reflects the value of targeted, precinct-level feedback.

In total, 23 municipal faults were attended to in October. These included:

  • Water leak repairs across multiple locations
  • Streetlight repairs to improve night-time visibility
  • Road barrier replacements
  • Electrical infrastructure maintenance and fault resolution

This level of responsiveness demonstrates the importance of consistent fault reporting and escalation, and the precinct team will continue engaging with departments to ensure unresolved issues receive attention.

Metro Police also maintained a visible presence throughout the month, conducting operations along Queen Nandi Drive and lending support to by-law enforcement activities initiated by the Riverhorse Valley Business Estate Management Association. Their continued involvement helps maintain order and enhances the overall safety of the precinct’s public spaces.
