Over the past few weeks, we have continued to see steady service delivery interventions from eThekwini Municipality across the Riverhorse Valley precinct, with 20 faults attended to by various service departments this month.
These repair and maintenance efforts (including streetlight repairs, electrical outages, road maintenance and water leaks) contribute directly to improved safety, infrastructure reliability and the overall functionality of the area.
Road Infrastructure & Traffic Management
Significant attention has been given to key transport routes within the precinct. Reinstatement of tar and general road repairs were carried out along Queen Nandi Drive, together with pothole repairs on both Queen Nandi Drive and Riverhorse Road. An assessment of the uneven road surface on Hippo Park Avenue was also completed.
At the intersection of Kubu Avenue and Queen Nandi Drive, the damaged traffic signal was repaired and replaced, and maintenance work was undertaken to ensure the signal is fully operational. These improvements are essential in maintaining safe and efficient traffic flow at one of the precinctβs key junctions.
In addition, road markings have been repainted in various areas across the precinct, enhancing visibility and compliance, while verge maintenance along Queen Nandi Drive has improved the overall appearance and safety of this main arterial route.

Utilities & Essential Services
On the utilities front, ongoing water leak assessments and repairs have continued along Island Circle, including the full repair of a meter leak at 51 Island Circle.
Repairs were also undertaken to a damaged fence at the wastewater station in Island Grove, ensuring that this important facility remains secure and properly maintained.
Streetlight repairs on Corobrick Road have further strengthened safety measures, particularly during early morning and evening hours.

Consistent maintenance and infrastructure upgrades are essential in supporting businesses in Riverhorse Valley and ensuring the precinct remains safe and accessible.
