Clean up continues after the floods

The mammoth task of cleaning up parts of the precinct that was damaged by the recent rains is still underway, a total of 840 bags of litter have been collected from the river last week. We finally managed to get a bobcat onsite to help clean up Hippopark Avenue, Island Grove and Island Circle.

We have been following up with eThekwini to find out when the main broken sewer line on Prince Mhlangane Road will be repaired, we have been advised that the city is busy with that and work will commence once all preliminary investigations have been conducted. Though the sewer spill goes into the river, we are still able to draw irrigation water for our east pump house, it is only the west pumphouse that is affected by the bad water quality as it is further downstream. Please see below photos of various work going on in the precinct.
