The RHVBEMA team has completed assessments of damaged precinct infrastructure. 12 concrete benches, 14 concrete bins, two CCTV cameras, landscaping at Quarry Park and Imvubu Park Place, and some irrigation were damaged. We have requested quotes from relevant service providers and will attend to the urgent issues while we wait for the insurance claims to be approved.

Last week the precinct cleaning, greening and maintenance (CGM), and alien invasive control teams banded together focussing on internal precinct roads not cleared in the post unrest clean-up. They did litter picking, sweeping along Queen Nandi Drive, rubbish removals and also re-positioned remaining concrete bins in high pedestrian traffic areas where we see high litter volumes. Thanks to their hard work the precinct is back to its normal high levels of cleanliness.
