The month of November brought 122mm of rainfall to Riverhorse Valley, accelerating vegetation growth and increasing the demands on our cleaning, greening, and maintenance teams. Despite the challenges posed by the rainy season, our teams have worked tirelessly to uphold the high standards of the precinct.
Impressive Litter Collection and Boundary Management
The alien invasive control team completed full boundary cuts across the precinct, collecting 1,900 bags of litter this month alone. This brings the total to an incredible 12,044 bags collected since November last year. Specific areas of focus included the boundaries around Media House and RTT, where the team worked to manage overgrowth and maintain clean surroundings.
Garden Reinstatements and Landscaping Repairs
This month saw significant efforts to restore damaged landscaping in the precinct:
- Riverhorse Close: In collaboration with the property owner, our teams reinstated gardens after affected by the upgrades to a property. This work restored the verges and gardens to their previous manicured state.
- Outside Teraco on Riverhorse Close: Teams reinstated gardens in this area, enhancing its appearance and preserving the integrity of the landscaping.
Key Maintenance Activities in November
The rainy season accelerated vegetation growth, making regular maintenance essential. Key tasks included:
- Grass Cutting: Corobrick Road and Hippo Park Avenue saw regular grass cutting to keep the area tidy and visually appealing.
- Tree Trimming: Teams trimmed trees at Quarry Park Place to manage overgrowth and ensure safety.
- Retainer Wall Maintenance: Maintenance on the retainer wall along Ibhubesi Road was carried out, contributing to the structural and aesthetic upkeep of the precinct. Before and After image below.
The dedication and hard work of our cleaning, greening, and maintenance teams continue to ensure that Riverhorse Valley remains a clean, green, and welcoming environment, even through the challenges of the rainy season.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we strive to maintain the highest standards in the precinct.
