Keeping Riverhorse Valley Clean and Green this February

February brought 287mm of rainfall, and combined with the summer heat, vegetation growth across the precinct has been rapid. Our cleaning, greening, and maintenance teams have been working diligently to manage the impact of the weather, ensuring that Riverhorse Valley remains well-maintained.

To keep up with the increased demand, teams have worked additional Saturdays to ensure that grass cutting, boundary clearing, and landscaping stay on schedule. The alien invasive control teams have also focused on clearing overgrown grass along property boundaries and removing litter washed downstream from the river and waterways after heavy rains. So far, 883 bags of litter have been collected, with work still ongoing.

Garden and Verge Maintenance:
  • Riverhorse Road gardens maintained
  • Verge maintenance along Riverhorse Close
  • Gardens maintained at Quarry Park Place
  Grass Cutting and Hedging:
  • Hippo Park retaining wall weeding – before and after images below

  • 2m boundary cuts across key areas
  • Grass cutting and hedging along Ibhubesi Road
  • Lawn mowing at Hippo Park Avenue

These efforts are essential in keeping Riverhorse Valley neat, safe, and visually appealing despite the challenges of increased rainfall and fast-growing vegetation.

We appreciate the commitment of our teams and the patience of members as we continue to manage these seasonal challenges. Thank you for your continued support in maintaining the high standards of the precinct.
