We wanted to inform you about recent incidents of taxi intimidation observed in our precinct. Recently there were instances of members of taxi associations stopping vehicles at the corner of Queen Nandi Drive and Quarry Park Place.
Upon noticing these activities, our task team promptly alerted the Metro Police, who responded swiftly and conducted roadblocks. As a result, some taxis were impounded. There has been no further intimidation reports or observations. Subsequently, the taxi associations lodged complaints with the Metro Police head office regarding the impounding of their vehicles. In response, the Metro Police made it clear that continued intimidation of the public would not be tolerated.
