October service delivery highlights: Enhancing safety and infrastructure in Riverhorse Valley

In October, eThekwini Municipality carried out a range of essential repairs and maintenance activities across Riverhorse Valley, focusing on road safety, infrastructure upkeep and addressing emergency incidents.

Road and Traffic Signal Repairs

  • Road Markings: Fresh road markings were applied on Quarry Park and Corobrick Road, improving road visibility and safety.
  • Traffic Signal Repairs: Damaged traffic signals at the intersections of Queen Nandi Drive and Kubu Avenue, as well as the N2 South offramp, were repaired, ensuring proper traffic flow and safety.
  • Pothole Filling on Corobrick Road: Temporary sand filling was applied to potholes while awaiting a tar application to restore smooth driving surfaces.

Storm Water Maintenance

  • Cleaning of Storm Water Manholes: Storm water manholes on Imvubu Park Close were cleaned, which helps prevent blockages and reduces the risk of flooding during heavy rains.

Water Pipe and Road Barrier Repairs

  • Burst Water Pipe Repairs on Riverhorse Road: A burst pipe on Riverhorse Road was repaired, restoring water service and preventing potential water damage to nearby areas.
  • Road Barrier Repairs: Damaged road barriers across the precinct were fixed, enhancing road safety and infrastructure resilience.

Emergency Response

  • Fire Department Response to Bush Fire: The Fire Department responded promptly to a bush fire in the area, preventing further spread and ensuring the safety of nearby properties.
