This past month, eThekwini Municipality attended to several essential repairs and maintenance tasks in Riverhorse Valley, ensuring the precinct remains safe, accessible, and well-maintained for businesses and visitors.
Streetlight Repairs and Upgrades
The eTM streetlight team focused on improving lighting across the precinct, with key activities including:
- Repairs to faulty streetlights along Kubu Avenue
- Replacement of a damaged streetlight pole on Musa Dladla Drive
Road and Traffic Signal Maintenance
Maintaining smooth and safe roads is a priority. This month the Roads Department completed pothole repairs on Corobrik Road, reinstatement of damaged curbs on Hippo Park Avenue and verge maintenance along Prince Umhlangane Road.
To improve traffic flow and safety, eTM also carried out maintenance and repairs at key intersections. Additional traffic improvements this month included the installation of traffic sensors on Corobrik Road to monitor and enhance traffic flow.
Landslide Interventions
Following the heavy rains and the overflow of the uMhlangane River, debris from the landslide on Prince Umhlangane Road was removed, restoring safer access in the affected area. The paving on the Imvubu Park Place bridge was also realigned to ensure safe passage for vehicles and pedestrians.

Water Infrastructure Repairs
The Water Department addressed service disruptions by repairing a damaged water pipe at the corner of Island Circle and Island Grove. A total of 16 faults were attended to by various municipal service departments during March.
These interventions highlight the importance of proactive municipal service delivery. The RHVEMA continues to liaise with municipal departments to report new issues and ensure that outstanding faults are resolved promptly.
